Coronavirus

Update 23rd March 2020

The impact of the government’s announcement on Friday was crushing for the wedding industry and more importantly, devastating for couples due to be married. While the situation has escalated faster than expected, as a venue, we had been planning for this eventuality in the last few weeks.

As soon as this announcement that social gatherings must be ceased, we immediately began to contact all the couples affected to make new arrangements. The team have been doing this over the weekend and have continued to do this today.  We are heartened by the support we have had and the resilience of our amazing couples we have spoken to over the weekend. We will continue to support couples in trying to make the best of this terrible situation we have all found ourselves in.

While we were doing everything we could to remain open, the health and wellbeing of our couples, their guests, our team and suppliers come first. We respect the government’s advice, we are adhering to it fully and will continue to monitor this going forward.

Please bear with us again, whilst we deal with your enquiries. We are looking forward to sharing some positive pictures and stories going forward. In the meantime, we wish you and your family good health.

Update 19th March 2020

At Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall, we appreciate that these are unsettling times for couples who have a wedding booked for 2020. We want to assure our couples that we are continually monitoring government advice and doing everything in our powers to ensure your wedding goes ahead. We are committed to remaining openworking closely with our brilliant suppliers and committed staff.

Because the government advice evolves rapidly and enquiries are exceptionally high, we are currently dealing with weddings in chronological order. Please bear with our team who are working tirelessly, trying to ensure our high levels of professionalism still apply during a very challenging time. We are currently dealing with all weddings that are within the next 8 weeks.

Our staff are aware of the measures you can take to prevent catching the virus and currently, all remain at work. We ask that our couples use common sense following the government advice regarding guests that are invited to your wedding (travelling from restricted areas and displaying symptoms or asking those that are vulnerable not to attend).

We’ll be posting further updates as the situation changes but thank you for your support so far. We will, in turn, support you and do everything we can to ensure your special day takes place.
