Dogs at weddings

Here at Merrydale Manor, our team realise that your pooch is a cherished member of the family and you wouldn’t want them to miss out on one of the most important days of your lives.

There’s been a significant increase in enquiries from our couples wanting to include their pet on their special day at Merrydale Manor, so we wanted to let you know that we welcome a couple’s dog for your civil ceremony and also for photographs after, that you can treasure forever!

If you are planning to have your dog present at your wedding, there are some requirements that we have about dogs at Merrydale Manor for you to consider:

. .

Our Dog Do’s at our Cheshire wedding venue

Do ensure that your dog is friendly and sociable enough to adapt well to a different environment. Weddings can be overwhelming for our furry friends if there are lots of strangers around giving them lots of attention and we want to make sure that all our guests (even our four-legged ones) feel safe and secure at all times while at Merrydale Manor.

Do ensure that your dog is supervised throughout. This could be by a friend or maybe a family member. The designated person will also need to be responsible to pick up after your pet in the case nature calls, and they have a little accident!

Do ensure that your dog is kept on a lead by the supervisor at all times. We have a lot of livestock in the area, and it will take the stress away from yourselves knowing that you won’t be spending your wedding day running after a missing pooch!

Do ensure that the dog is only present in the ceremony room and the area at the front of the ceremony room for any photographs following the ceremony. For health and safety reasons we couldn’t allow pets in any other areas on site, but there are plenty of opportunities though in the permitted areas.

Do ensure that the dog is on site for a maximum of 2 hours, this will cover your ceremony time and also provide plenty of time for some photographs after the ceremony. We do have some doggy day care and home boarding facilities nearby to our venue if your pooch needs somewhere to stay locally. Please get in touch with;

•    Dogs Country Day Care – dogscountrydaycare@outlook.com / 01565 656289 (offers a day stay only)
•    The Dog House at Peover – 07788 437 158 (offers an overnight stay)

Finally, if you are planning on bringing your pet to your ceremony at Merrydale Manor, then please do ensure that you inform a member of our team before the wedding (at your final meet is perfect) so that we can expect their arrival.

We look forward to seeing more furry friends in the future!

Love The Merrydale Team x
