The Venue FAQ’s

The Ceremony Room 

1) What times are the ceremonies? 

12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

2) How do we book our ceremony time? 

You must book this directly through the registrar. This isn't something we book on your behalf.

3) How many guests can fit into the ceremony room?

The maximum capacity for the ceremony is 200.

4) What are the measurements of the ceremony Aisle?

The aisle is 2m wide & 20m long.

5) Can I provide a playlist to play during the ceremony and or wedding breakfast?

Yes we recommend creating a playlist and sharing this with us.

6) What time can my suppliers arrive to dress the venue?

This can be from 9am on the day of your wedding.

7) Do you allow pets?

We do allow couples to include their family dog in their ceremony, however that is the only area they are allowed and not permitted to enter the Merrydale Suite, Gardens or Accommodation.

The Merrydale Suite 

1) What is the Maximum capacity? 

200 guests for the wedding breakfast and 220 guests for the evening celebrations

2) What’s included in the Merrydale Suite hire?

The tables, chairs, air conditioning, one microphone for use of speeches, two easel’s, a round or square cake stand and a cake knife

3) What time does the bar open & close?

For a 12pm ceremony generally the bar would open at 11am.

For a 2pm ceremony 1pm.

For a 4pm ceremony 3pm.

Bar close time is 12.30pm.

(Unless otherwise arranged with Barrett’s)

4) Does Merrydale serve food/drinks other than wedding breakfast & evening reception?

No, your catering company will provide food only ordered in for the wedding.

Merrydale will provide breakfast for all guests the following morning we do not offer meals snacks or drinks outside of this time & would advise to pack accordingly.

5) Do you have WIFI?

Yes we do. Ask a member of our team and they will provide you with the details to connect.

6) What are the Merrydale Suite measurements?

Floor to Ceiling – 12ft

Top Table – 6ft table fits 3 ppl per length,

Oval Table x 10 ppl = 21ft (this includes 3 x 6ft, 2 x half moons)

7) What kind of table numbers are best for the Merrydale Suite?

A minimum of 8 per table & maximum of 12 (tables of 10 work best). Plus the top table with the curtain closed behind the chandelier.

The Manor House 

1) How many bedrooms does the Manor House have? 

There are 4 double bedrooms in our Manor House; Autumn (couples’ choice as a bridal site within the Manor House), Winter, Spring  and Summer

2) What about children staying?

Children under 12 are welcome to share a room with an adult free of charge. Guests would need to provide a travel bed and bedding themselves, but breakfast will be provided.

3) What time is check in & check out?

Check in for the house is 11am, which includes access to the Makeup Suite and the Cave.

4) What will I find in the Makeup Suite?

Six hair and make up stations

Lounge area for you and your bridal party

Full length mirror

Bucket and glasses if you would like to bring something to drink whilst getting ready

5) What will I find in the manor house?

Fully functioning kitchen with the following: Fridge, freezer, wine cooler, crockery, basic cooking utensils and glassware.

Multiple spaces to lounge and relax with 3 TVs in the communal areas

Separate private parking at the front of the house

Communal washroom (downstairs)

4 Double rooms with en-suites

6) Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is included for all guests staying with us & is served in the bar area at 9am.

We can accommodate children and any dietary requirements, provided we are informed prior to your stay.

The Courtyard Rooms 

1) How many rooms does The Courtyard Rooms have?

1 Honeymoon Suite, plus 9 other double bedrooms, which are split into our North and South wing's:

South Wing

Bridal Suite which includes a make-up room

Owl (disabled facility toilet)

Sheep (interconnecting with hound)

Hound (interconnecting with sheep)

Salmon

North Wing

Stag

Bird

Fox

Horse

Rabbit

2) What will I find in the Make-up room? 

Four hair and make up stations

Bucket and glasses if you would like to bring something to drink whilst getting ready

En-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers (the Bridal Suite also has a freestanding bathtub)

6) Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is included for all guests staying with us & is served in the bar area at 9am.

7) Does Merrydale have an accessible room?

Yes, Owl bedroom located on the North Wing & is fully accessible with adaptations & wet room.

8) Does Merrydale have a lift?

Yes, this is located on South Wing.

The Woodland Pods 

1) How many pods are there? 

5 Woodland Eco Pods, Bluebell (King), Clover (King), Daisy (Twin), Snowdrop (King), Bramble (Twin), plus 1 Lakeside Lodge (specifically for bridal party night before)

2) What time is check in & check out?

Check in for the pods is 3pm

Check out is 10am

3) Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is included and served to the pods the next morning

We can accommodate children and any dietary requirements, provided we are informed prior to your stay.

The Woodland Lakeside Lodge

1) What time is check in & check out?

Check in for the lodge is 3pm

Check out is 10am

Breakfast is included and served to the Lakeside Lodge the next morning

Guest Planning FAQ’s

 1) Can guests book accommodation direct themselves?

We ask that room bookings are made by the couple only.

Our Woodland lodges are available to book & anyone attending the wedding are welcome to do this.

Your Wedding Day FAQ’s

1) Will Merrydale provide staff to help throughout the day?

Yes, on the day you will have 2 wedding coordinators & one of our chosen toastmasters to help throughout.
