The Dog at Over Peover is located just a minute’s drive away from Merrydale Manor and is also part-owned and run by the Irlam family. The Dog has been and is a much-loved local pub for years due to its homely feel and village charm. It’s renowned for its good food and is featured in the Good Pub Guide.

All six rooms have been recently refurbished and finished to the highest standards with a choice of 5 double bedrooms and 1 twin. Each bedroom is unique, but they all feature similar home comforts and have each been designed by the same interior designer as those at Merrydale Manor – so you know you won’t be disappointed!
All guests staying overnight will have a wide range of breakfast options included in the price of their stay. Prices start from £125 per room and your guests will get the added benefit of a free shuttle car from Merrydale Manor or Colshaw Hall back to The Dog after the wedding! The free shuttle service is available on request.

Due to the proximity to Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall, Many brides or grooms are now opting for a family and friends gathering the night before their wedding. The delicious menu is the perfect choice for dinner the night before your special day at Merrydale Manor or Colshaw Hall with your family and friends to kick start the celebrations! The Dog’s menu is made with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible and features a wide range of dishes to suit most tastes and dietary requirements. If you’re booking a large party for the night before your wedding, please do mention at the time of booking that you are part of the wedding party.
