Winter Weddings at Colshaw Hall

Today at Colshaw Hall, our wedding team are reflecting on the changing seasons.

We’ve really enjoyed the spring and summer this year. Drinks of Pimms, Mojitos and Prosecco have welcomed guests. The sounds of garden games being played in the walled garden and the intoxicating scent of spring flowers. It really is a beautiful time of year, but we also love the change in atmosphere that a new season brings to our exclusive Cheshire Wedding Venue.

A new time of year brings a whole new ambience to weddings. The choice of flowers, decor, food and even wedding attire is influenced by the seasons and we love autumn and winter weddings just as much as the summer.

If you’re searching for Cheshire wedding venues, really think about which season you get married in too.

Most couples desire a summer wedding, but winter weddings can have many advantages too – and not just on a financial basis. At this time of year, wedding themes take on a romantic nature – with roaring fires, richer colours and twinkly lights, it can really be the most romantic and impressive time to get married.

Part of the beauty of tying the knot in November or December at Colshaw Hall is that you can take advantage of the Christmas decor in the hall and gardens. We’re starting the preparation now and the decorations will be up for mid-November. It’s a big project to get the house decorated, but one that our house manager Julie really enjoys:

“Every year we aim to make it bigger and better than the previous year. The hall is decorated in a traditional theme and is individually designed to compliment each room. It’s all handcrafted, from the staircase garlands to the glittering full-height tree in the Peel Suite. This year we will decorate the Peel Suite in a champagne and cream colour palette, with plenty of fresh foliage to complement the themes of our weddings. For those taking the house, they will also get to enjoy the real open fires in the Langford Brook, Piano and Dining Room on request. We’ll also be putting up some new exterior lighting this year so it’s bound to be a special one!”

Colshaw Hall Event Planner, Georgie Irlam also loves a winter event or wedding;

“I find that Winter gives me lots of fresh inspiration for events that I am planning. Over the years, we have seen some stunning events based on themes around Winter themes – Winter Wonderland and Narnia have been a very common theme in the last couple of years. At Colshaw Hall we’ve had reindeer and elves making an appearance for the children – it actually is the most wonderful time of year. If you would like to come and see Colshaw Hall and how it could look for a winter wedding please come to our open day and see how it could look for your event’.

The Colshaw Hall winter open day is 26th and 27th November 2016 from 11am to 4pm.

On arrival, you will be greeted by our very own Toastmaster, Ian Brown, with a complimentary glass of festive fizz and a mince pie. You will then be able to view the Hall, Stables Ceremony Room and Peel Suite which will be fully decorated for the Christmas season.

It’s also a great opportunity to view our luxurious range of accommodation, including the seven-bedroomed Hall and cosy cottages which are perfect for guests. We’ll also be holding food tastings and you will also be able to meet a select number of our preferred suppliers. Prepare to be inspired with the best in photography, wedding planning services, floral arrangements, yummy cakes, superb lighting and entertainment.

There’s no appointment needed. Simply turn up and view our luxury Cheshire wedding venue and meet Georgina Irlam and the team. We look forward to seeing you.
